Unattached to things

I have an impending sense of freedom. I keep believing that I will feel something magical when that moment arises. As if there will be a new emotion, a new certain sense of self that will arise, at that point. A weight will lift, a sudden pang – a realization – of what is right and how one should be, will occur. And when it happens…
I will control my future. I will dictate what my own next step is. I will choose between what I believe and I choose to leave behind. There will be no “needs” or “social acceptance” that I will strive for. I will look out and I will see a path. It won’t be shown by signs, nor by magical lights or even some build in magnetic sense…I will simply go toward what is logical, what makes emotional sense and where I feel I will be living as a sentient being ought to. We are unique creatures on this planet. And we have a debt which is far deeper than anything “society” says we should pay. Homage should be given to our genetics. Respect should be given to our evolutionary lineage. We have the responsibility to deem this existence a tool, to be wielded and to be used, when needed, as a weapon of great strength against all of which we strive to tear down.

And so I will…

There will rise a set of rules. These rules will not come from a book written by a man told to him by his almighty. These will not come from some sort of inalienable rights bestowed upon us from the heavens. These rights, these rules, these common sense pieces of knowledge will come to as a common agreement among all sentient beings on this planet simply as a byproduct of the system acting in its own best interest. We will learn that when we murder someone else our ability to live, anywhere, will cease to be in any sense human. Forever the knowledge of you will reverberate throughout society and as a subpart of your existence. To steal from another will make the price you pay to exist rise in proportion with you crime, making it, at least from a logical position, more costly to steal. Society as the police force, will always be able to hunt you down. The truth that I believe now, is that a certain set of law have arisen to be such a common sense that we have already chosen as a group what we believe to be proper. Most all of the religions and laws of countries have a law against the murder of another. The cost varies all over the world, but there is a belief on a world level that murder is bad. Maybe we should just average out all of the legal systems on the entire planet and run by that set of rules as a general guideline at the United Nations. We are an intelligent race. We do have a social intelligence. We may not speak like a mound of ants just yet, but soon we will.
Knowledge and exchange of knowledge brings some pain, the loss of a certain set of freedoms. The freedom to escape your past possibly.
True capitalism? BAH! Coming economies will inch toward that economic idea shlowly as we become more connected to each other and better informed (perfect knowledge is an important feature of true capitalism). How can one be better informed? When employees are so much more able to move around in an economy that they truly don’t have fear of losing a job. Being able to work with a group because you want to enables you to view said group differently. You see the benefits and faults. As well, you see the wrongs in a whole new light. Being more of a mercenary in society you know a wider aspect of the work community. Being more of a mercenary makes you less likely to hold back whena company is doing something wrong, within the company and outside to the general population (the individual blog world will continue to increase as people become more apt to share data and knowledge). Society is changing. It is evolving into a greater beast. Maybe…

In the world in which we are all connected the economy will turn into something a little different…perhaps a social industrialism will arise. Imagine a system which always knows the needs and the wants of all groups and can communicate those needs and wants instantly to all of those who have the ability to supply those needs. And then being tied directly to a system of communication that is socially monitored and policed to allow for immediate transfer of related funds because things like contracts will no longer be a necessity if all can see every transaction. Works will flow from project to project independent of any other than their skill set and possibly their desire for a geographic region to live in. In a perfectly transferred world of knowledge some projects would be very well done from remote locations (it happens today this way already with some knowledge works). If such a world happened what would be the benefit? Waste would go away. Companies would be able to focus on doing what they do best, produce. The skilled workers (the line people) would be the real owners of companies, letting their management level project be handled by the thinking mercenaries spoken of earlier. For those of you who work in sale,s imagine know what every single one of your potential leads had a need for before you called up. Imagine know Joe in Montana needed exactly 6 widgets to get the job done. The line worker would know as soon as Joe thought it out completely and so would every widget maker. Of course the computer would intelligently choose the one who would get the product the Joe the soonest under his very certain set of demands. Of course Joe would have the ability to choose who he buys from based upon experience and the peer to peer rating system (as well other factors – expertise is a certain material Joe is interested in, a group who happens to have made other pieces for this particular project, possibly even a group that happens to be on the other side of the planet, but has such a good reputation for their product that Joe’s customers will take nothing less). The engine would be much closer to perfectly efficient than it ever had been.

No system will ever be perfect, at least not in this particular dimension (unless we learn some new physics and figure it out), but at least this system would have at minimum 6.5 billion thinking computing geniuses (even the decently below average human is one of the smartest creatures on this planet) all deciding and thinking and inputting their thoughts and beliefs directly into an ever evolving system of supply and demand.

Eventually, economies, and governments, and taxes and anything of higher organization would evolve away. Leaving only the giant bank of human minds moving the society forward.

Freedom from form or fashion
Knowledge without the simple thoughts
Concept of life written in its actions

What happens every time man decides to organize on a greater level? What type of society arises out of the minds from every single soul that is to be governed? When all parts of society are known, all views are read and all real thoughts are taken into perspective. When every single issue is in itself a question for society to ponder. And when all of those ideas concepts and evolving mind frames are brought into view, what will happen then? We will see a picture of society's will. A true concept of what the world thinks and believes.

Kinda scary in an Orwellian sense. Having some sort of wireless internet connection item hardwired into your skull so it can beam in the constant chatter of the political matter of the world. Do remember, once you remove the decision making from the legislature and place it with the people, everyone directly tells the President what to do and governs the actions of the Executive branch with the ever keen massive public eye. You ring back over time you feeling on issues. And not all issues must go through every single person (go here - http://www.mymindalive.com/weblog/2006/02/modern-day-social-satire-ii.htm ) just a lot through a random number.

As well, there can be a system where many millions of people could become pseudo-experts on certain subjects and I am sure the algorithms can make it so just enough “pseudo” experts in each area get in enough votes. The experts would begin to rise all over the country, but since we are wired and communicating constantly about ideas and concepts related to this random subjects going through our heads we become great experts on many subjects, so we are always moving and flowing based upon the math. Certain pieces of information will travel through society like a whip informing all who know each other in mere seconds – lets say, on average, every person in society had 20 individuals in the direct contact list – how many flips would it take to cover 300,000,000 people in the US - 1*20*400*8000*160,000*3,200,000*64,000,000 and then 1.28 Billion and finally 25.6 Billion). Somewhere just past the number 6…lets say it takes 10 seconds to recognize a certain piece of information…in 1 minute and 20 seconds a certain piece of knowledge could cross the globe about four times. In an interconnected world data and ideas would flow like electricity in the sky (maybe even someday we will learn to invest a machine that can run off of the electricity created by the random thoughts being passed around at mind speed).

I think, when properly cared for and in safe conditions, human beings can be good creatures. There will always be the dark soul somewhere in society which looks to disrupt and take advantage of the system, but sometimes those pieces are necessary to help the system evolve (kinda like a small animal slowly learn to do many things in order to fight against the ever increasing competition for food and shelter). The human race could be seen as an evolving species once again, on a mental social scale. The ants of the universe we must become. Maybe not just yet…but once we can focus our resources and remove the waste of modern government, maybe a fresher sharper, leaner and more efficiently evolved world can arise. We eventually will need it to control what we are going to become.

Infinity

With infinity a new set of potentials arise. Very simply, at any point in which infinity is entered into an equation the potential answers of said equation as well moves toward infinity. A real mathematician may be able to find a flaw in the logic somewhere, but from a base level I can explain where this is going to and it will then make sense.

If time is infinite then potentials are infinite. If potentials are infinite then all things will occur. If all things can occur then there is no possibility of there being any single thing which cannot occur (I know obvious, but I am building a path toward something). If no single thing cannot occur then that means for every single problem that we look at and are unable to solve there lies an answer somewhere, as eventually, in an infinite world, there is a solution.

Now, here is the kicker, at least I think. If infinity is a possibility and in that possibility all things can potentially happen, even in a universe in which there is no infinity and not all things will happen, all things could happen as all problems still have solutions. The only limiting factor that infinity puts on the discovery of solutions is time, not possibility of occurring. Obviously, the less time available the less potential time to discover many random things…but that does not remove the potential of an infinite set of answers, merely that there is a limited time to read them over.

What this really means…anything can be accomplished. We simply must figure it out. There is nothing that cannot be done. To make things disappear using only your mind isn’t anymore impossible because there is the potential for some version of human to evolve into controlling the very nature of matter; small possibility, but a non-zero value. Life can be infinitely long. Computers can think. The universe can be traversed in the blink of an eye. Nothing is impossible with an infinite set of solutions.

A brave new world…not really…it has always been there. Just us getting smarter.

The equation of “Love”

Had a discussion recently with one of my friends. The discussion centered around a relationship issue that was going on and it twirled around back and forth touching here and there upon the normal things…till I of course blurted out something completely insensible in relation to “relationships.” This of course being “logic” inside of a relationship.

And I don’t mean to step on the hearts of those who love the passion…

I find myself improperly applying one set of rules to a certain situation and a different set of rules to a similar situation which should get the same treatment. I look at the whole of existence as a set of mathematical probabilities (as noted several days earlier in a posting). These probabilities, though unable to be measured because of a lack of technology, do in fact show the entire world up to a potential certain point, and as I go through the exercise mentally I may come to think that those probabilities go all the way through to all points within this world.

The state of “love” in the modern world is slightly flawed, I believe. We humans have historically given this magical power to love and said that it and it alone, transcends all other traits and all rational thought to be placed upon this pedestal of omnipotent importance. Why have we allowed this emotion (probably a combination of emotions and long term probabilities within our minds) to spiral out of control?

One reason I can attest to, is the euphoric emotional high that is associated with it. Imagine this savage beast trolls through the forest gnashing its teeth and killing all it can find to support itself…living on a fringe so violent that its only respite is in a cave with its young. Going through its existence with its only purpose to kill in order to live longer (and all other good things come from there in this animals mind – mating and passing along genetics) would make for a very certain short, hard life. Now, inject into its everyday emotional system this feeling, this belief that there is now another of its kind which not only wants to help it survive, but would potentially sacrifice itself in order to allow it to continue. What do you think would occur inside of the mind of an animal like that?

New Scientist SPACE - Breaking News - When is a black hole like a dripping faucet?

Imagine the entire universe is this simple web of criss crossing beads of energy continually pushing and pulling across each other. A continually moving breathing and reacting lattice of existence. The veinwork of the universe is a liquid drip of matter that is so finely ground and tuned to its perfect solution that its ebbs and flows go unnoticed but to the most keen and educated of eyes. We live in a garden of existence. Where things comes together the energy focuses. Our mass is the gathering point. All mass is the gathering point.

Allign your brains with the strings of energy aligning our all?

I work…a little too much for my philosophical hippie side that thinks the few processions to do own now cause me to be overweight and fastened down…but not living on a farm and eating from the earth does the same thing for that side of me. However when I am done working I find myself wanting. Not to go back to work though…cus 50-55 hours a week of that office is enough for me. I need to recharge. But recharging is simply focusing elsewhere and letting my brain do that…it is not equivalent to my sometimes evening fare of reading all 50 of my websites until there is nothing more to ferret out from the world news rat and then cleaning, playing with the cat and talking to the crazy guy in my building. I want to increase who I am. I want to widen the walls of the me. I could go to a museum. Watch films. These would give me a slightly wider perspective on the world. Maybe I could do time in a business sense with a not for profit. Or join some after-hours science think tank. Those would be interesting things to do. Benefiting some grand body in this world while keeping my mind moving and gaining value in a way that I find worth it. I want to do something that I can look at as an investment and be driven to do it by both the potential long term pay-off and, being the key argument, that I actually want to do it and feel good doing it (kinda like the job that isn’t really a job because you would do it for free).

What to do? What to do…

Can human action be predicted? Very interesting question. Some people say no. Some people say within a range dependant upon factors and blah blah blah. I am not entirely sure. But I will attack it with logic. The first thing I believe is that outside of the randomness machines that living things are most everything can be perfectly predicted. It is a little challenging to do though as it involves having some sort of computer which can take a picture of and map the entirety of the universe from beginning to end while having an exact read on every single particle (whatever the smallest particle ends up being) and then being able to go past the present day and follow the data into the future. Now somewhere inside of that concept is a logic flaw possibly or maybe a hidden universe or maybe a perfect picture of the universe…but the concept of it is there. The potential situation is not beyond total reason.

And if that is the case, that in a certain set of circumstances a computer could in fact predict the future simply by tracking all the movements of electrons then we know that all of the non-living world can be casually accepted as items with a known future…unless they come into contact with a random thing. A random thing would be something that could, entirely unpredictably, change something about itself. Now this goes headlong into our previous belief that all things made of tiny particles could be measured and thus predicted…at least on the surface it does. I think just beyond the level of creation that allowed for the complex molecules of carbohydrates and proteins came a higher order of attributes that arose out of the amazing neural network. Another level of complication. But this level of complication has something a little different in it. It has a fuzzy concept of action and choosing among actions. For instance somewhere something triggers an amoeba to go toward that light spot that looks kinda small and edible. It of course could also go in another direction based upon its analysation of the local space. But something, the mathematical probabilities cause it to go another direction. And maybe that is where randomness in the universe comes from. The fact that we don’t make absolutely the same decision in the exact same situation because of our propensity to go toward generalities but something, out of the potential for there to be lucrative gain, the statistically improbable direction introduces an unknown element into the equation and would seem to break to string of predictability of our computer.

That is a big jump though to assume that there is a sort of generalization equation in nature because that allows for the pretty interesting potentials as change moves through the universe. It is also quite the open hole in a system that seems to be pretty tight fisted on knowing exactly where everything is at every second. The only example one can find of true randomness in the universe is Schrodinger’s Cat. This has to do with our observation of the universe changing it. Well…in one sense I disagree on a philosophical level because once we observe something as long as we know how it works we can tell what it was and if we know what it was by what it is we can predict what it will be and having those measurements are just as nice as knowing exactly what something is by looking at it. And secondly, and much more importantly, the universe is made of things smaller that we can write real math about just yet. And because of this, many of the thoughts of quantum mechanics speaking of never really knowing where some of our atomic particles are, will fall by the wayside as we learn the movements of all particles we now understand are simply by products of something on a much finer scale.

So are we free ranging creatures in which some kind of mathematical probability allows us to make choices which buck the trend but at a non-constant pace relative to all the other variables and as a result have a potentially limitless future? That is really what this is all about. If there is no fate and no perfectly predictable future then there are no defined limits as there can never be a set of perfectly knowing potentials in an equation. And if that is true then anything is possible as the equation never ends. But then I would guess we would have to factor in change over the universe as eventually the tinder boxes glowing in our universe will eventually burn out.

1.5.06

Recently saw a very unscientific study on the BBC. The questions being asked I think were related to the media and its relations with government and its officials. The part of it that caught my attention was one sub question which asked the people voting how much they believe their central government was acting in the best interests of the nation.

Do you believe the government is acting in the best interest of the nation?

What a funny question...of course the federal government acts in the best interests of the nation...right? I mean, whom else might they act in the best interests of? Quite a scary concept.

Imagine finding that your government in fact acts in the best interests of no country and doesnt even act in the best interest of those few, powerful, extremely weathly and connected families and groups all the time since their actions are so short sighted. Imagine knowing that the entirety of the beast that the United States is, is just slightly treading the water slowly pulling itself forward as a byproduct of being in a forward moving flow of water. The concept of government being a simple mechnaism to pull forward the masses as it itself is pulled forward by the intellectual, scientific and business intelligence of its constituents is no longer something that fears me, but something that I confront daily.

In terms of that poll i saw (of which about 23,000 at the time I finished it), it was the Russians, at 39%, who believe their government is acting in the best interest of their nation. Putin is a hard man, but they might be right, damn the rest of the world and damn the individuals who have managed to steal their nations wealth.
