Corporate Socialism

The Fed coordinates sale to JPMorgan of Bear Sterns

For those of you who don't pay attention to the markets and the movements of the big money people in the world, you are so smart. For those of you who declare yourselves capitalists and believe in competition and that the government has a duty to the people as merely their servant and nothing greater, you would be upset.

The Federal Reserve, a debatebly independent arm of the government United States of America has chosen to fund the purchase of a Wall Street firm who chose to act in a fiscally irresponsible manner in order to keep it from going under. In essence, we have chosen to threw a basic tenet of capitalism out of the window, that being that in the markets the strong will survive and the weak will pass on.

Your money, your taxes, your hard work and your future are being utilized to allow one of the largest banks in the world to bail out billionaires and millionaires because they chose to invest in investments that were well know to be foolish.

We are no longer capitalists in this country. We are weak. We are fat. And we have forgotten what it is like to live in a world in which we must compete.

Good riddance to us.
